TO LOVE AND TO ACCEPT YOURSELF

Love, what’s love? Many people have come up with varied definitions of this abstract term. From all this, one essential fact stands out, that feeling of appreciating oneself or someone else in such a manner that you want or them the best. For this reason, we are always advised to love each other. Many aspects of society like religion, the state, the family, and many others have then required us to love. With time we have grown to understand how to love others more than we have learned love ourselves.
Loving oneself does not seem much of a complex issue, and many people don't even know if they really love themselves. Since we are so used to giving others love, we have forgotten the essence of loving oneself first.
connectivity, social media has played a significant role in our global socialization. Ideally, it’s indeed a great achievement, but more than ever, people are imitating other cultures, perspectives about things, and so much more. This has led to many people having trouble appreciating themselves without necessarily comparing with other existing trends.
For this reason, many people around the world over are struggling to see the good in themselves. People have lost the sense of loving and accepting themselves. How do you love and accept yourself?
Here is my perception of self-love.
The very first thing would be to know that your presence on earth, however insignificant it may seem, there’s a reason for your existence. Ideally, the best way to self-love would be to appreciate that you are alive and identify your uniqueness. We are dynamic beings and can never be the same, and that in itself is magic. Our color, sizes, heights, race, and every other thing add to our varied self-image.
Embracing what we are would be the best thing to do. Since your self-image is what the world sees, it is crucial to work on it in your quest to love yourself. Whatever you feed your body, your mind, your eyes, will definitely radiate on the outside.
Feed your mind with a positive vibe, give your body sufficient nutrition, and enough rest will make you feel great about yourself.
It is human to make mistakes sometimes and fail too. One will hate themselves pretty much if they are always identifying with what they are not good at. Come to think of it, and we have more weaknesses, or rather, there is much that we can’t do compared to what we can do. Why then should even worry about what is not within your control. This, therefore, means that to love yourself, you should focus more on your capabilities and build on them also. We are all different and have something unique to offer the world. It is up to us to identify that in which we can stand out. This will build our confidence and therefore improve your love for yourself. Then you would not have to worry about what you can’t do, even if you do, it will to try and improve on them.
There are so many cases of people, especially young adults, reported to suffering from denial and depression. There might be many reasons for this, and I believe that one of them is not loving and yourself. You are who you are, your race, your color, your size, height, economic status, and every other thing. However hard it is economically; you cannot hate yourself. Life might be full of absurdities, but we are created in a manner to overcome. LOVE YOURSELF!!
